Exall Lake

Location: Dallas, TX

Exall Lake was a very unique project that involved an extremely complex granite clad retaining wall. The challenge was to be able to get a drill rig into Exall Lake which was approximately 80-100 years old in a very old and prestigious part of Dallas.

The client asked us to install a flame cut granite along the edge of the lake. In order to do that we had to demuck a significant portion of the lake to put a drill rig into the lake and then to drill the piers and build a wall. Another challenge we met with this project was that the wall had to be built before the granite with flame cut. The granite was ordered from Cold Springs, Minnesota and we built a wall to a quarter-inch tolerances in order for the granite to fit.

The Serco solution was to work closely with the client. We provided very strong survey control and quality control to make sure that the walls were built correctly and the project was built on time and to the client satisfaction.
